I have 99% of my assets not compatible with the current UE version (5.8), and some costed real money, what is the point of all this? How am I supposed to finish projects when devs keep leaving me behind? Maybe, instead of rushing to the next engine version they should check if the rest of the train is still on the same tracks with them, because this is absurd
Hello @starscream0x0013 ,Welcome to the forums!
This seems to be a fairly common issue when a new engine version is released. One thing you could try is the following:
First, open your project in UE 5.8. Then, in Fab, find the asset you want to use and click Add to Project.
You should see a warning indicating that the asset is not compatible with that engine version, along with a dropdown menu that lets you select a different version. Choose the closest available version and then click Add to Project again.
The asset should then be added, and you should be able to use it in your project.
Additionally, I’m including a Learning resource that shows the same process, although it was created using an older engine version. Even so, the workflow is essentially the same and could serve as a useful reference.
Hope it helps!
