When importing with datasmith the hierarchy of the cad changes, it does not maintain the same structure as my original cad and it is of utmost importance for my application to maintain the names and especially the structure of parents and children. How can I configure Datasmith to keep the original hierarchy?

Datasmith should preserve the same hierarchy than your CAD model.
Which format is it? can you show us screenshot of the product tree in CAD software vs product tree in UE? Can you share the file with us?
