Disclaimer: FPS Movement Plus is an additive to the original FPS template made by Epic Games, and is by no means meant to replace or nullify it. FPS Movement Plus simply adds a bunch of movement features and expands upon the original mechanics.
FPSM+ adds a ton of useful and powerful features that every FPS game should have. The mechanics have been tweaked to be highly customizable and feel smooth and high quality. From character movement to camera animations, FPSM+ has a hilariously easy installation, ready for you to start moving in minutes. Be sure to check out the downloadable demo to get a feel!
Crouching: FPSM+ features an updated crouch system that smoothly transition from crouch to standing. It also features head collision so the player cannot uncrouch while under objects, and will even auto uncrouch the player once there is space above their head. (Assuming they let go of the crouch button).
Sprinting: While not just adding a sprint to the players movement, FPSM+ offers a bunch of cool features that making running around in first person feel smooth and reliable. With an increased head bob and fov scale when sprinting, you get to really feel the speed when running. Sprinting will also consume your stamina bar, that will only regenerate once sprinting has stopped, and will auto cancel the spring if the player runs out of fuel.
Climbing: An FPS isn't complete unless the player can climb ladders, and thankfully FPSM+ offers more than just ladders. FPSM+ comes with a BP that can be applied to any object, and to any surface that will allow the player to climb up and down anything. The climbing logic is all built into the FPSM+ component, allowing for instant use.
Sliding: While not a massive gameplay element, the ability to slide down slopes offers an extra spice of movement to the player. With an editable value, you can decide how steep the slope is needed to be before the player can slide after hitting the crouch input.
Coyote Timing: FPSM+ adds Coyote Timing, as well as giving you a tweakable variable that allow you to adjust the ledge 'grace period'. This is an often overlooked feature that every game should have. Not just platformers or FPS games, EVERY game. It's an incredibly powerful feature that is often overlooked, but silently praised through its amazing movement capabilities. "Coyote timing is a platforming mechanic that allows the player to still jump shortly after leaving a ledge, giving a brief grace period for more forgiving controls."
Camera Movement: FPSM+ contains camera shakes, and camera animations to make movement feel more dynamic and impactful. Walking will trigger a head bob, while sprinting will exaggerate it. Jumping and crouching will play a camera animation, and landing will have varying levels of impact depending how far the player jumped
