Just downloaded unreal engine for the first time, says GPU Crashed or D3D Device Removed. Check log for GPU state information.

Not too sure what is wrong or how to even interpret the logs as I am a new user. When I try launching the editor it gives:

GPU Crashed or D3D Device Removed. Check log for GPU state information.

I disabled integrated graphics in device manager and my unreal engine works so I am not too sure why this happens

Sometimes apps when windows switches rendering device in runtime crash.

Had such stuff with dell laptop, it had crappy quality HDMI connector (usual dell crap).
So every 10-20min that connector randomly disconnected my monitor for split of second.
Since Laptop screen was running on integrated Intel Graphics Decelerator,
windows turned off nvidia mobile chip. And whatever ran on Monitor usually crashed.

laptops with integrated gpus tend to crash like that too.
specially if there’s a power profile that decides to change to the integrated one without notice.
sometimes that’s hard to disable.

this is a good post with things to try
