I have just downloaded and installed unreal engine on my MacBook Pro[(13-inch, Early 2011), 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB.],
The error message says that a compatible graphics card is required {(“You must have a Metal compatible graphics card and be running Mac OS X 10.11.6 or later to launch this process.”)}
I have ‘MacOS High Sierra version 10.13.3’
Is there a workaround for this error?
If not, is there an older version of ‘unreal engine’ I could install?
You could try to enable OpenGL(old) instead of Metal.
You need a new graphics card. I recommend you Nvidia gtx 750 ti 2gb. It’s a good graphics card for UE4. You have a 4gb ram macbook. UE4 requires 8gb-12gb ram. You can buy a laptop that has this specs:
**- processor=Intel core i5
- graphics card=Nvidia gtx 750 ti
- ram=8-12gb**
I recommend you a laptop, not a macbook. It’s cheaper than macbook, and doesn’t appear much lag. I think Windows is more good than Mac for developing games
I recommend this laptop: Lenovo ThinkPad E470
I really hope this will help you!
