Jumping squashing cubes with root motion

Hey guys, I want to improve animation at my jumping-enemy-cubes. Previously I used simple jumping animation at start, mid air cycle and landing for animation and Launch for movement. Now I want to “bake” my smooth curves from full jumping animation into enemies jump. They will jump at fixed height so I want to try use vertical moving cube in animation root motion rather than launching it in UE4.
Is such method is bad idea or okay?
