jump animation takes a while to start?

Hi, I’m making an anim blueprint, and I’ve set up jump up like every single tutorial out there, enabling transition from IWR to jump based on the character movement “is falling” boolean.

turns out it takes a while for the animation to trigger for some reason, even though the jump starts right as I press the jump button.

This happens in every video I’ve seen, but nobody shows how to fix this.

any ideas?

To make it start faster, shorten the duration of the blend in the conduit leading to the jump state. Kinda looks like you may also need to speed up play rate the animation itself.
