Joseph's - Concert Stage LED Dome Venue - Audio Reactive Light Show, DMX, Planetarium

Pick a song. Click Create Show. Press Play.

A complete spherical LED-dome concert venue for Unreal Engine 5.7 and 5.8. Create Show turns any song into a full audio-reactive light show — LED screens, 18 moving heads, strobes, blinders, LED bars, sparks and confetti, all on the beat — as a normal Sequencer track you can edit. No scripting.

Concert + planetarium layouts · 12 seamless LED looks · 7 exterior skins · DMX / Art-Net with QLC+ · LED Builder · fulldome, VR180 and 15K render presets.

Requires: UE 5.7 or 5.8, Windows, Lumen (the UE5 default). No code: Create Show uses two plugins that ship with Unreal (Python Editor Script Plugin and Audio Synesthesia) — they are already enabled in the included project; if you migrate the pack into your own project, tick them once in Edit → Plugins. You never write or see Python. The venue, live audio driver, DMX and Blueprint control run without them. Content + Blueprints only, no C++.

Quick start (5 minutes)

  1. Open LD_Concert and press Play — a 75-second demo show runs.

  2. Enable the two plugins (Edit → Plugins) and restart.

  3. Import your song (WAV), select LD_ShowControl, pick it in Song.

  4. Click Create Show — the show is choreographed in seconds and opens in Sequencer.

  5. Press Play. Edit anything in Sequencer, or drive the venue from Blueprints or a DMX console.

Create Show — your song becomes a show

  • Finds the tempo and splits the song into calm, build and drop parts; each part gets its own look, palette and speed, with a hard cut into every drop.

  • Moving heads sweep when calm, rise on builds and fan beat by beat on drops; sparks on each drop, confetti on the biggest.

  • Strobes roll into each drop, blinders punch on it, LED bars chase; the last beat before a drop goes dark so it hits out of black.

  • Screens follow the music frame by frame (bass, mid, high, beat) with a locked clock — every render is identical.

  • The show opens and closes with a screen transition (letterbox or iris).

  • Plus a live audio driver for games that reacts to whatever plays.

Two venues in one package

  • Concert — end stage, centre stage and runway, FOH tower, 2,695 instanced seats, truss with chain hoists, 18 moving heads, strobes, blinders, LED bars, line-array PA.

  • Planetarium / Immersive — the screen comes down to the floor, 1,655 reclining seats in rings, a central operator console.

  • Exterior — seamless full-sphere LED skin, sunken amphitheatre plaza, arched glass entrance, a 1.3 km site with road, 87 light poles and 2,206 instanced parked cars, moonlit night.

LED system — one material, every screen

  • 12 seamlessly looping looks with cross-fades: Aurora, Warp, Nebula, Particles, Flow, Kaleidoscope, Retro, Spectrum, Galaxy, Liquid Chrome, Fireworks, Underwater.

  • Your own domemaster and equirectangular images and videos on the dome, the exterior or the immersive wall (preview in the editor, plays by itself in game).

  • Real LED pixel grid — pixel pitch in mm, fill ratio, module seams; logo slot; one-click palette.

  • 7 exterior skins that turn the sphere into a lit object: Earth, Earth at Night, Moon, Disco Ball, Sports Ball, Pumpkin, Ornament — the light stays fixed while the object turns.

  • 5 screen transitions — Letterbox, Crack, Iris, Spread, Cut — open or close, any colour.

Lights, effects and DMX

  • Moving heads (pan, tilt, colour, zoom; palette- and beat-reactive) with 3 show presets: Opening, Drop, Ballad.

  • Strobe, blinder and LED-bar Blueprints with beat pulse, pixel chase and a Hit node for in-game flashes.

  • Niagara sparks and confetti; 8 camera moves and a showcase sequence for Movie Render Queue.

  • DMX / Art-Net (optional): run the heads, the dome and the effects from a lighting console, with per-fixture Sequencer ↔ console hand-over; the dome keeps reacting to the music. Tested end to end with the free QLC+ — fixture files and a patched workspace included.

Blueprint control in game

One node each, with drop-downs and tooltips — from a Level Blueprint, a trigger or a menu:

  • Looks: Set Look (12 looks, cross-fade), Set Palette, Set Brightness, Set Speed

  • Content: Show Image, Play Video (dome, exterior or all screens), Show Exterior Skin

  • Show: Play Show, Stop Show, Play Transition (open or close, any colour)

  • Effects: Fire Sparks, Fire Confetti, Set Lights

Build your own LED setups

  • LED Builder — draw a spline, get an LED wall, curved XR volume, ceiling or floor from real-size cabinets (500 × 500 / 500 × 1000 mm), with live resolution, power, weight and data-port stats. Example XR volume included.

  • Modular LED kit — flat wall, curved wall, floor, column, with realistic cabinet backs.

  • Dome Camera — a live 360° camera whose view any LED surface shows in real time.

Render for real domes and VR

  • Fulldome: Movie Render Graph preset for 8K equirect masters + a converter to 16-bit domemaster sequences for planetarium playback.

  • VR180 stereo: side-by-side 8K, eyes baked from your camera move.

  • 15K equirect still (15360 × 7680).

Technical details

  • UE 5.7 and 5.8, Windows · Complete Project · content + Blueprints + editor Python, no C++.

  • Required for Create Show: Python Editor Script Plugin, Audio Synesthesia (engine plugins, Beta). Optional: DMX, Electra Player, Movie Render Queue — the maps open without them.

  • Tested in a blank Blueprint project: 3 maps, 0 errors / 0 warnings; the packaged Windows game plays the showcase.

  • Nanite on opaque meshes; 20 non-Nanite meshes (LED surfaces, glass, beams), LED kit pieces with 3 LODs. Lumen recommended.

  • Real-world dimensions, instancing for all repeated parts. Collision: complex on walkable surfaces, simple on seats / props.

Good to know

Fab's Add to Project does not enable plugins — switch the two Create Show plugins on yourself (the button tells you if one is missing).

Performance (RTX 5080 Laptop, Epic, standalone): immersive map 156 fps at 1080p. The concert map with the full exterior site is heavier — hide the parked cars or use performance mode (screen-space GI, +21 %).

FAQ

Does it work with a real lighting console?
Heads, dome and effects are patched on Art-Net universe 1. Tested end to end with QLC+; a hardware console has not been tested yet.

Does it work in a packaged game?
Yes — a baked show is an ordinary Level Sequence; our packaged test build plays the showcase with 0 errors. For music known only at runtime, use the live audio driver.

Can I play my own 360° or domemaster video?
Yes — domemaster (180°) and equirectangular (360°) images and videos map correctly on the dome.

Does it work in UE 5.4 – 5.6?
No — assets are saved in 5.7; supported versions are 5.7 and 5.8.

Can I use the seats, stage and LED kit in my own map?
Yes — every mesh is a standalone asset. There is no seating-layout tool in this version.
