Jerry rigging the first person shooter variant template to turn it into a stationary shooter ?

Sup all, how do I make the aiming system of the template know where the mouse is and shoot correctly towards it in 3d space. (PC/Mobile)

The feel per shot should be a tap/click on enemy to shoot similar to the OG arcade light gun games (and newer ones I guess), not the deliberate aim the in-game gun/player first and shoot like battlefield or COD, if this makes any sense at all.

I’ve already disabled movement input and camera control, also aligned the player gun and FP shooter character mesh as shown.

If shot accuracy needs to be sacrificed that’s ok, updating the template’s reticle position to follow the mouse is cool but also not essential, just anything to get me closer to the image attached.
