Have a look at this Unreal Engine 5 Cinematic our art team at Jetsynthesys put together.
This video has been rendered in 4k and runs at 60 FPS in-editor, using features such as World Partition, Virtual Textures & Virtual Shadow Maps. Nanite is enabled on most geometry to optimize performance, reduce the use of baked normal maps & still maintain high visual fidelity. Lumen provides Dynamic Global Illumination. Blueprints are used throughout the scene for building assemblies & prop sets. TSR Anti-Aliasing.
Hope you’re well and having a wonderful week so far
This is such a cool shopping center. Every shop feels inviting and pretty high end. However, its the lighting that really elevates this street for me. From the sunlight itself to the lanterns to the normal building overhead lighting - it’s all rather beautifully done. Did you take inspiration from a real life shopping street or did you create it all yourself?
This is an actual location in Tokyo. We went there to take photos with a smartphone. Additionally, we used Google Maps to understand the location in 360 degrees. However, everything in the scene is hand-crafted
Ah awesome, it’s always nice to see environments founded on real locations. Was there a particular element of the project that was more difficult to replicate?
Thank you @InfiniteSkyGames@galconda@PresumptivePanda The most difficult part to create was to bring authenticity to the Japanese environment, in terms of the style of fonts, believability, etc
Totally understandable but you’ve done an absolutely marvelous job with this project. The believability is what initially drew me in and was the most noticeable element immediately. It didn’t need a romanticized sunset or a purple skyline - it’s beautiful because of the sheer amount of detail and artistry that went into it. Terrific work!
