Hi everyone,
I’m currently working on a arctic-themed level in UE 5.3 and running into a frustrating issue with landscape layer painting.
When painting paths (or transitions between layers) on my landscape, the edges are very jagged and strictly follow the underlying vertex grid.
-
Landscape Component Resolution: 128x128 verts
-
Overall Resolution: 1906x1906
-
Component Count: 225 (1x1 subsections)
I tried going into the Landscape Manage mode to change the Section Size / Resolution using Resample (and tried Expand), but strangely, it had absolutely zero visual effect on the landscape grid or the jagged edges - everything stayed exactly the same as before.
I managed to fix this in my previous UE4 learning project, but forgot how and to document it. I only remember that i didn’t touch the landscape data itself in the past. Just some settings.
I also tried to search on Google, without any solution.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I’m a beginner, please keep it simple, if possible. I’ll not be able to understand professional levels of UE topics.
Thanks!
