Items are not added to inventory when picked up

I’m following a tutorial series on how to make an inventory system and I’ve recently done this episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15Ob9D75XBA&list=PLl5i300DoPxefzTUtefC5Bd7pnMk0p1VF&index=5, which explains how to add items to the inventory.

I can interact with items and they disappear from the scene but they are not visible in the inventory, and they have icons assigned to them, so I should be able to see if they are. I don’t expect anyone to actually watch the whole tutorial, but if you have time to do so you would gain more insight into the problem.

I have no idea what’s wrong, and I don’t see where he added the information for the item structure, like thumbnail etc. Is something missing here? If you need to see more blueprints to be able to help I will gladly show you.

As an experienced programmer, whenever such a situation happens, I can only recommend to straight away put some breakpoints and see what the code flow is.

Here’s some great video showing off the blueprint debugger which became a really powerful tool in ue5:
