Issues After Updating Unreal Engine on My New AI Laptop

Hello all,

I recently updated Unreal Engine to the [5.3 version] on my new AI laptop, and I’m running into some frustrating issues:

  • Performance drops: The editor runs much slower, especially when working with complex scenes or compiling shaders.
  • Frequent crashes: Unreal Engine crashes randomly, sometimes during compiling or while navigating the viewport.
  • Rendering glitches: I’m seeing weird graphical issues or artifacts in the viewport and during playtesting.
  • Plugins not working: Some of the plugins I rely on are either not functioning correctly or causing the engine to freeze.

I’ve already tried updating my GPU drivers, adjusting settings, and reinstalling Unreal, but the problems persist. Has anyone else encountered similar issues with Unreal Engine updates? Any advice or fixes would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

What’s the video adapter in there? One of those?

That’s an integrated card - that’s not going to play well with UE and is waaaay underpowered for anything serious. Not even sure if these are officially supported. Also, those Intel Ultras are 4 core 20W processors - intended for light office use.

Nice display, though!

Too late to help you out maybe, but to others about to drop cash on a new AI-PC.
AI PC’s are in the junk hype phase atm, NOT good enough for game dev or games…
