Issue with RC that mesh the edge of limit bot or reconstruction region box

Hello Everyone,
I am trying out RC for outdoor. Glad to be part of this community.

I am having an issue with the mesh creation with RC where it seems to mesh the surface of the reconstruction regions/limit box and give false result.

PLease see screenshot below for more detail. This is a outdoor statue and its on a flat surface but the meshing issue create a box like surface underneath. This fake surface shows up when exporting as well (obj)

My PC specs is:
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor
64GB RAM
SSD
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070

Appreaciate any helps for advice on this matter.
Thanks

Hi @Danmachi4456,

RealityCapture automatically creates watertight meshes, and therefore, you end up with parts like the bottom of your model.

Before the reconstruction, adjust your reconstruction region so it doesn’t contain the bottom part since reconstruction happens only within the reconstruction region:

You can use different editing and filtering tools to remove that part. You can use the advanced selection tools to select only marginal triangles and then use the filter tool to remove them:

The Cut by Box tool may also be helpful:
