I am having an issue with trying to modify quixel textures for my landscape.
The main issue I am having is trying to add the landscape visibility mask but the bigger problem is that the material and material graph is different than all the tutorials and videos say it should be.
If I add Quixel grass to my landscape it seems to use a material instance which is all well and good, but if I scroll down to phys material there is none. If I click on Parent material it is a generico material that doesn’t look anything like the tutorials and most importantly doesn’t have the same module with an opacity mask option to plug in the landscape visibility mask.
I have tried searching to see if I just need to replace it with a different one but haven’t found what I need.
As a secondary issue I have one grass material that in the search assets shows up as a material instead of a material instance. This one does have the node that has the opacity mask, I can plug in the landscape visibility mask and transparency works properly but in the details panel for this material there is not the same parameter groups section where I normally scale the texture to be the proper size. So with this material I am able to do the visibility mask, but the texture scale is way off and I don’t see where to change that.
I tried creating a material instance of this material to see if that gave me the different details page but it didn’t.
Okay I did figure out how to add the scale modification in the node editor for the one material I have.
I still haven’t figured out how to add the visibility mask to the other Quixel textures though.
Another question that isn’t completely related but hopefully close enough since I already have a thread started.
In the grass material I was able to get working with mask and scale I am having trouble incorporating a node method of eliminating the tiling pattern. I tried one approach but I think I am not tying it and the scale together properly.
Can anyone link to a guide, tutorial, or show me a node setup that would blend out the tiling pattern and allow me to scale the texture?
