Issue with Material Properties Transfer from Navisworks to Unreal Engine

Hello everyone,

I’m encountering an issue while trying to transfer models from Navisworks to Unreal Engine, specifically regarding the preservation of material properties.

I’ve attempted two methods:

  1. Using Datasmith Importer: When exporting from Navisworks using the Datasmith exporter and then importing the Datasmith file into Unreal Engine, I’ve noticed that only color and transparency properties are transferred. Other material properties such as smoothness, shininess, roughness, and texture seem to be lost in the process.

  2. Importing FBX from Navisworks: Similarly, when importing as an FBX file from Navisworks, I’ve observed that only color properties are transferred, while other material properties such as smoothness, shininess, roughness, and texture are not preserved.

I’ve checked my workflow and settings but haven’t found a solution yet. Has anyone else encountered this issue, and if so, were you able to find a workaround or solution?

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
