Issue with IPA Build and Upload to TestFlight using Transporter - Asset Validation Failed (90161)

Hello everyone,

I’m encountering an issue when building an IPA file and uploading it to TestFlight using Transporter with a remote build setup. Despite checking that both the certificate and provisioning profile are of the distribution type, I receive the following error upon upload:

Asset validation failed (90161)
Invalid Provisioning Profile. The provisioning profile included in the com.eightordertechnology.citylit bundle [Payload/Marunouchi.app] is invalid. [Missing code-signing certificate]. A distribution provisioning profile should be used when uploading apps to App Store Connect. (ID: aa147416-d214-41c4-9406-148a245bfb6e)

It seems that when I import the provisioning profile, the distribution checkbox does not show a green check mark. Has anyone experienced this issue or knows how to resolve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi Tyramisu!

I’m having the same issue in UE5.4.2 on Windows. I’ve tried certificates from Unreal’s built-in solution and certificates from Keychain Access on the Mac, but none of them get past Transporter’s check.

I resolved the error above. You should check again your certificate and a distribution provisioning profile. Then you have to install the certificate of the distribution provisioning profile on your mac.
And check the Build for distribution on project setting - IOS.
