Issue with duplication and meshes using PolyEdit

Hey people !

I’m new to Unreal for now a couple of days, and I just met my first hard issue. I’m stuck with it for like one hour, googling anything and finding nothing about it.

I’m actually working with the PolyEdit tool which is very helpfull to basically create anything from scratch, but I did realize that duplicating an object doesnt duplicate his mesh aswell. I’m now stuck with 2 different objects linked to the same mesh, when I need the meshes to be different after duplication.

Do you have any idea how to resolve this problem ?

Thanks

I have the same problem…

This blog may help cover some of the modeling mode workflows.

Under the create menu in the modeling mode use the MeshDuplicate tool. This will allow you to create a duplicate staticMeshActor along with a new asset. You also have control to hide/delete/keep visible the original.

As of 10/28/2023, the “duplicate” button is found in the XForm section, not the Create section.

I have the same problem, as yours
