Hello,
I have this issue that the Chaos Cache correctly records the destruction of the Actor I related it to And also plays it back on the original actor.
However, the Cache Collection it literally uses, if you save that after recording it does not seem to properly duplicate the actor it references in Caches → Caching → Spawnable → Duplicated Template.
Instead it shows you this placeholder texture:
I have literally no clue what the hell is happening because the Cache Manager itself references the “Cache Collection” while being on “playing” and thus most certainly uses it to display the object at the original location itself as well.
But the Chaos Cache Player that gets created when pulling the cache collection into the viewport somehow fails to display this object.
Also:
I created multiple models with and without custom render option set, with and without “use root proxy”
None of these settings had any effect on the outcome of this experiment.
Maybe irrelevant sideinfo: What I am trying to achieve is quite simply → record destruction of object, play in reverse.
For a game mechanic where you can destroy and repair objects in a kind of fancy way.
I have a feeling I am missing something very obvious here.
