Issue duplicating master sequence causes glitches in editor playback

A team member reported me some glitchy behavior when duplicating their master sequence.

Steps they reported to me that I was able to replicate in 5.1

  1. Create all animation in dedicated level sequence. (No cameras/etc)
  2. Create master sequence that contains above animatino subsequence, along with a camera directly in the master sequence. (We use this basic workflow for different camera angles of the same action)
  3. Duplicate master sequence.
  4. Animations in editor start to look strange. Can look tilted/not standing up straight, are floating in the air, or even skeletal bones not in the right place (i.e. a character’s legs will be contorted).

Workarounds so far-

  1. Despite this strange behavior in the editor, renders will look totally normal.
  2. As a result, to return editor view to normal, we will reload the level+sequence and animations looks fine again. Restarting Unreal also works.

The question is - has anyone else encountered this? Is there a way around this popping up? Thanks!
