Issue Attaching Skeletal Mesh to Character

Hey everyone. I’ve been stuck on an issue for the last few days and am officially at my wits end. I have searched far and wide and tried every answer I can locate, unfortunately without any success.

I’m basically just trying to attach a pawn mesh to my character, then drop it. It has to be something to do with relative locations when attaching or detaching but I have tried everything from resetting relative transforms both on attach and detach, moving the object manually before attach, reattaching to original actor root after detach, Saving mesh location and moving actor to location after reattach, etc.

I just don’t know what I’m missing at this point so any thoughts would be highly appreciated. Here are some videos showing the issue.

Thanks so much in advance to anyone who comments. After days of wracking my brain and trying everything I can come across I could really use some outside opinions. I’lol post some additional photos shortly as well.

Hey everyone I was able to figure this out finally. For some reason I had to add a delay until next tick right here on the attach.

I assume without it, it didn’t fully turn off physics before snapping to attached component, therefore the pivot/origin point it was snapping with wasn’t aligned with the mesh. I haven’t really seen anyone else have to do it but seems to work ok now. :man_shrugging:t4:

Thought I’d pass it along for others encountering the issue cause it was way too simple for my days of headaches. :man_facepalming:t4:
