(Issue) Apex Cloth In Character Blueprints

So I’m probably asking for something far more complicated that what I’d take at face value in theory, but I’m sure you guys can help me out. Basically, I have a character and I have a separate mesh for cloth that already has a bone attached and apex, etc etc. What essentially needs to happen is I need to attach the cloth mesh to the head socket of the character and upon game simulation it drapes over his head. This is going to be a permanent attachment. The problem is, the cloth doesn’t simulate in the blueprint. I assumed since the cloth does it outside of the blueprint it would work but it doesn’t; it remains stiff and does nothing under every circumstance.

What is it that I’m missing here and what would I need to do to accomplish this?

I’m not a 3D modeler but I’m willing to try what it takes… and if I can’t do it for some reason, I can always get my more experienced 3d modeling partner to help. I thought I would consult the forum and see what you guys say as I can’t find a forum thread that is this specific or one that gives such an answer.
