Is XCode required? Can I use XCode tools support?

I’ve just upgraded to 4.26.1 and when I go to open the Unreal Engine it says:

Can’t find Xcode install for Metal compiler. Please install Xcode and run Xcode.app to accept license or ensure active developer directory is set to current Xcode installation using xcode-select.

XCode is 30GB!

I don’t have that space available.

Is there a way to download just the XCode tools?

I opened up terminal and pasted this: sudo xcode-select -s /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer and now it’s loading.
