Is UnrealEngine Marketplace compatible with ARK Dev Kit ?

This is my question: Is UnrealEngine Marketplace compatible with ARK Dev Kit ?
We can use content of marketplace in arkdevkit? Looks awesome content to use for better mods.
New content of Unreal Engine MarketPlace use the last version of Unreal Engine (4.9) and ARK Dev kit use 4.5. We can use this marketplace for ark mods?

Mostly not:

  1. The marketplace uses “magnet links” for the launcher, and the ADK is not recognized as a UE project (which are necessary to DL any assets through it)
  2. Any assets incompatible with UE 4.5 will crash ADK upon launch

The 4.5.1 market items will most likely be compatible. Anything above that and as Sench stated, it won’t work. In saying that the 4.5.1 assets are compatible, you won’t be able to download them straight to the ADK, just install the 4.5.1 vanilla engine and create a project then add the items to the project.

I haven’t tested that, but it should work in theory, and once the items are added to that project, I would assume either exporting/migrating to the ADK would be the next step. Feel free to test it if you will. I have both the 4.5.1 and 4.9.2 engines installed, myself… but I’m too busy with my mods to test UEM items.

The answer is yes & no, BUT mostly a yes. The trick is importing it into a new project (I made one called ADK transfer in v4.8.3). Once you have it in the new project, you need to then use the “Migrate” option to migrate the assets into your overall “Content/Game” folder in the ADK (this part is key, because it will break references if you do not migrate it to there) . Once that is done, you should then test the assets within the ADK by loading them up to ensure it doesn’t cause any issues (crashes from animations, and some 4.9 assets will happen, so I suggest only migrating one thing at a time and doing limited testing). Keep in mind that currently, animations off the marketplace can be hit or miss with actually working in the ADK, as well as, blueprints do NOT import from my experience, and I’ve also found some newer marketplace content made only in 4.9 doesn’t work either, but I have more testing I need to do with some theories I have regarding 4.9 content.

Once it’s in the ADK located in the overall “Game” folder, then you can manually move the folder within the ADK to your desired mod folder (it will take a while as it has to open every asset and rename/relocate them without breaking references).

Hope this helps clear some things up.

PS: I know this from trial and error, and many hours of testing manually. I’ll let you know if I can figure out a way to finagle the newer content in (I have a theory I’m going to try here shortly to test it).

PPS: I forgot to mention that if you export the content to source files (IE: exporting material assets like textures to source files aka .PNG, etc), and then import it into the ADK as source format, it should work without an issue in most situations.

Is there anyway to bring ARK assets into a new file? such as i am doing a classwork assignment and i am needing to make and environment and would like to use the ARK trees and rocks, but i am not finding a way to bring those assets to version 4.8

Pretty sure ripping assets from Ark into a non Ark project is against the copyright. But then again who will stop you, right?

Trust me on this one - you don’t want that. I got 1 darn asset from a royalty free area download. Only to find out later it was ripped and uploaded there. The original owners saw it on a You Tube Video showcase and had the workshop shut down instantly, no questions asked or sent to me. They then contact me directly for compensation, even though it was only in a mod and not making any money. NOT a fun experience. Make sure your assets are legit, yours and useable.
