Is this system is enough for UE5 game development?

Hi guys, my mac let me down on the development process so I’m gonna buy a new system that has:

-RTX 3060 12GB VRAM
-Ryzen 7 5700G
-980 Pro SSD 500GB
-2 x 8GB Ram
-B450M K

I will build third-person action-adventure with limited open world, that will run on PC.

I’m open for opinions and ideas for changes and can you rate out of 10.

Thank you.

Hi Wingmaninja,

That setup will work for you - I’d give it a 7/10 - the 12GB VRAM is a good idea - if you could push it a bit further, you could double that RAM to 32GB (even 64GB if you could) - and a larger SSD if you could - it would just make it a bit smoother and easier to store all your assets… A second SSD for windows would also help - that would take it up to 8.5/10…

I have two Intel Xeon e5-2690 v4 which you can buy on Ebay for $50 dollars each, and I have 28 cores ,56 threads. I compile 6000 shaders in 3 mins.
You are paying $200 dollars for a CPU with only 8 cores. You will be waiting 20 mins or more to compile those same 6000 shaders.

Think about that.

Thank you, I will gradually upgrade those parts as development progress (Y)
