Is this PC good for Unreal Engine 4? Are there any changes I should make to the PC to make it better without effecting the price that much?

Hello, I was planning on building a PC for UE4 for around the budget of $1000. I was wandering if this PC is good for Unreal Engine 4. Are there any changes I should make to the PC to make it better without effecting the price that much? You could also send me a pcpartpicker list and I will check it out.

Generally speaking, this is a well-rounded system. One thing that stands out here is the price/quality of the memory modules compared to the rest of the components - you’ve chosen hi-end ones. Even though Ryzen loves memory bandwidth, you would most likely benefit more by investing in the GPU instead.

The one advice I can give you is to look for cheaper memory, get Windows key from one of the sites that sell keys (it can be had for as little as $25) and invest those savings into a GeForce 1070 with 8GB. Those 3GB on the mini 1060 are OK for now but this might hurt you in a couple of years.

Do you have any sights to buy a Windows key? Like eBay? And should the EVGA Superclocked edition for the 1070 be good? I dropped my memory down the the DDR4-2666 (Crucial - Ballistix Sport LT 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 Memory) because I heard that you shouldn’t go anywhere below that for productivity.

And yes, DDR4-2666 is a balanced choice for this budget. If you can pair your rig with any 1070, you’ll be in a really sweet spot. If you can afford EVGA’s version, go for it. Although, you can’t really go wrong with a stock version if the price is attractive. If you ever need to squeeze out some extra performance, you can always overclock it yourself. The software is pretty straightforward these days and often comes with presets.

Windows 10 Pro, you technically do not need it but there are some extra features in Pro (that hardly anyone uses anyway): Windows 10 Home vs Pro vs S: What's The Difference?
