Is there way to use cable physics to drag objects?

All the tutorials I see showcase as a way to simulate rope/cable physics when attached between two static points. There’s some extra illusion of physics using constraints, but it’s very basic stuff.

If I want my car to drag something (like in this Saints Row clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3e8Hw3wNng) are there any tricks to go about it? Anything on the assets store? I couldn’t find anything by google fu.

Why do you think it’s capable of basic stuff only? It’s pretty deep for what it is, janky at times, sure. Definitely enough to drag a car like in the vid - which IS pretty simplistic, actually… You could then use a cable to visualise it only.

Or, since we’re already using physical constraints, for a much better visualisation, make a chain-like structures with joints. Gives you plenty of flexibility since every joint is its own thing. Read the data of the simulation, apply it to a spline, visualise it with spline mesh components.

And if you ever hit any limitations, do look into the new experimental plugin: Physics Control.

You will spend more time making the connection look good rather than work well.
