I’m just wondering what if any drawbacks there are to using child actor components? I just started playing around with them and they seem really awesome, which makes me suspicious about why I can hardly find anyone talking about them. They seem to be just the sort of nested blueprint feature that I’ve seen several threads saying you can’t do. It seems you can use them for any blueprint, place them however, get their variables, call functions back and forth no problem, and even change the child blueprint on the fly. I read about some bug with setting their visibility, but I tested that and it seems to be fixed now.
So with all this too-good news I’m wondering if there’s any serious issues with them, before I start building significant chunks of my game with them.
Thanks for any inputs!
