I understand the rationale behind the significant migration, but I’m puzzled as to why it’s happening now when there are still many missing features that the merged platforms possessed.
The primary concern for many users, including myself, is with the Bridge app. Epic has chosen to phase out Bridge functions concurrently with the release of Fab’s web platform. While Unreal and UEFN may already have an integrated plugin, this move has left those outside that ecosystem without the highly efficient and convenient direct import feature from Bridge to software like Blender, Maya, etc.
Moreover, this overlooks the absence of numerous assets that have not yet been transferred to Fab, rendering them currently inaccessible.
Although Epic may remain resolute in their decision, I, along with many others, am eager to know whether there will be an API and corresponding documentation. This would enable the community to facilitate the integration of Fab into our preferred programs, as the official replacement for Bridge by Fab appears to be distant, if not indefinitely postponed.
