Is there anyway to have a highlight effect on text?

Essentially want a coloured rectangle on top of my text same as dragging my mouse over except it stays permanently.

Preferably using settings in rich text data table. Happy to make texture or material but if not possible then any way is fine

Do you mean a whole text like that or mouse over per word ?

You can play around the string manipulation to append/remove the tags like that:

Like this preferably but honestly if not possible what you showed isn’t a bad compromise
