Is there any real alternatives to DASH plugin?

Hi everyone, hope you are doing well. I’m new to unreal engine and quite honestly I don’t have much time to invest in learning all the ways to create fog ecc… I recently stumbled upon the DASH plugin and I think it is amazing, but the pricing is too much for what it gives you (you don’t get future updates with the 1 time payment and only 1 seat… ■■■■… so i was wondering if there’s any other plugins that one can use as an alternative to DASH. I know it’s lame to not wanting to learn hours and hours of map designing, but i would like to create my worlds with an easy way with the help of plugins. Thank you all

Hey @HH_Zere — totally get where you’re coming from.
There’s nothing lame about wanting to move fast — especially if you’re juggling limited time and just want to focus on building your world and gameplay.

Plugins like DASH are great for speeding up the visual side, but the concerns you raised about updates, licensing, and long-term scalability are very real. Many of us have run into similar frustrations, especially when working across different machines or teams.

:light_bulb: In our case, we were building a fairly large world and realized that even more than visual generation, what started slowing us down was the lack of visibility into what’s been done, what’s broken, and who’s supposed to fix what — per asset.

That’s what led us to explore a different kind of plugin — more workflow-focused than visual — and it helped us stay organized inside Unreal without relying on Trello, Discord notes, or post-its on our screen

If you’re building out large worlds, I’d definitely recommend checking out not just asset-generation tools, but anything that helps with clarity, task tracking, and collaboration inside the engine itself. It saves huge time in the long run.

Happy to share what worked for us if you’re curious — and definitely down to hear what kind of world you’re building. Sounds like a cool project already.

Keep going :rocket:
