Hello Neil,

Thank you for posting in the community and we are working on updating the plugin for SketchUp 2022 I do not know when we will have it ready but it seems to be able to work if you manually install it.

I do have a workaround that might work, and it would allow you to use the current Datasmith exporter plugin to be to installed on Sketchup 2022 and use that workflow instead. The datasmith plugin can manually be installed for the 2022 version by copying the following files from your 2021 version, if you don't have a plugin folder for 2022 in the path shown below you will need to create it.

C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2021\SketchUp\Plugins - UnrealDatasmithSketchUp.rb (File) -- > C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2022\SketchUp\Plugins

C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2021\SketchUp\Plugins - UnrealDatasmithSketchUp (Folder) -- > C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2022\SketchUp\Plugins

If you are on a Mac try to install the 2021 ruby file from the extension manager. You can reference this article for the steps:

Well I ended up uninstalling 2021 and 2022 skechup. I reinstalled 2022. Twinmotion plugin states no supported Sketchup in installed. I need HELP with this please.

Thank you for the follow-up and sorry you are still having issues.

Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1 - uninstall the Datasmith Exporter plugin for Sketchup for all the versions you have on your computer.

Step 2 - download the "Preview 1" Datasmith Exporter plugin from this link (please scroll down in the page until you see the link for that version).

Step 3 - install the latest exporter for Sketchup

Same problem with my friend here

I found that line in the Log :

AppSearch: Propriété : SKETCHUP2022DIR, signature : SKETCHUP2022Search

MSI (c) (F8:CC) [00:53:12:412]: Note: 1: 1402 2: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SketchUp\SketchUp 2022\InstallLocation 3: 2

So the problem seems to be that his sketchup has not created the registry key giving its location.

I tried editing the registry > add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SketchUp\SketchUp 2022 then modify the default key of the last (SketchUp 2022) to indicate the path C:\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp 2022 then i tried to reinstall datasmith, same error message.

So there are two solutions coming to my mind :

  • Can somebody host and send the files to copy in indicated sketchup folders ?

  1. C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 202X\SketchUp\Plugins\ – UnrealDatasmithSketchUp.rb (fichier)
  2. C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 202X\SketchUp\Plugins\ – UnrealDatasmithSketchUp (dossier)

  • Can somebody explain how to add the proper sketchup registry key ?

I downloaded the plugin and it stated it is already loaded. I do not see it in the SHP 2022 extensions. how do i get it to load and work properly?
