Nanite Foliage is supported in the recent versions of Unreal Engine, so I tried generating trees using it.
However, I wasn’t very happy with the performance - Nanite still seemed to struggle with leaves represented by Opacity Masks.
In a session at Epic, I saw that meshing individual leaves to create trees with fully opaque materials might be a new way to create forests with Nanite.
To test this out, I’ve been looking for assets in the marketplace, but Epic’s marketplace is difficult to navigate, so I’m hoping to find some help on the forums.
If anyone has found any tree assets in the marketplace that don’t use Opacity Masks for the leaves, where each leaf is made with an opaque mesh, I would really appreciate it if you could share that with me as well.
