Is there a way to make animated mesh particles using maya?

Hello all, I’ve been making a lot of particles with cascade lately and wanted to try animated mesh particles. I know skeletal meshes aren’t compatible, so I looked into the vertex anim tool and pivot painting and all seem to be Max exclusive. Does anyone know if there are similar scripts for Maya? In the meantime, I’ve tried baking vertices, resampling bakes on export and using morph targets, but Unreal won’t acknowledge them without a skeleton. I’m using version 4.11.2. Thanks in advance!
