Is there a way to live-preview a video from sequencer that triggers blueprints?

I think this is a noob question. Is there a way to preview a sequence that triggers blueprints in a project? Here is what I mean:

I have a BP that creates some animation. It works great when I play the game. I also managed to get the BP to trigger from sequencer, BUT it only works when I render the video, which means I can’t preview it at all (the BP doesn’t trigger when I scrub or when I play the sequence).

I’m just trying to create projects that use BPs to do stuff in the scene, use Sequencer to set up a video, and then render out from Sequencer (and preferably preview it in Sequencer also).

I feel like what I’m trying to do is super basic, but I can’t get it to work. Is my workflow backward or something? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

bumping this, having the same issue. It seems the preview window is very limited on playback settings with the sequencer. Which is weird for cinematics. I’m not trying to “Play” my movie, i’m trying to watch it. Hate that I have to press play everytime with a custom event trigger that doesn’t work half the time.

seems rather overly complex for what it needs to be.
