Is there a way to have planes crash blow up when hitting static meshes?

Currently, when planes hit any static meshes on our map, it doesn’t take any damage and just bounces off of it. Is there a way to change this in order to make it more realistic?

Have you tried placing a ‘Damage Volume’ Device that extends just beyond the mesh? I realize that covering your entire map in damage volumes would not be clean or sustainable, but for certain maps/experiences I think this could be applicable.

Yeah we had that idea in the beginning, but we have tanks on the map, so those would explode as well unfortunately
