Is there a tutorial for using NuGet with Unreal?

It’s been awhile since I opened the VisualStudio solution for my Unreal project. At the top of the solution explorer is the warning that multiple NuGet packages are out of date or have vulnerabilities. I open the NuGet package manager. I see packages for AWS, Google Drive, and Google Sheets, for which my project has no use. I deleted them, and then hit Update all packages.

The result wasn’t good, so I reverted my code to undo all of the NuGet package changes. This didn’t fix anything however.

It turns out, all of the references to NuGet packages are in the Unreal SDK application directory, so upgrading the packages basically meant I was changing the Unreal SDK itself. Since I don’t back this up, I had to figure out what packages to reinstall, and which packages to downgrade. I’ve done that, but it’s probably taken me five hours.

Is there any tutorial describing when/how to use NuGet with Unreal? In addition to a discussion of when/how to update packages, it would also be useful if the tutorial described how to include the NuGet package references in my code directory. The latter is required if I want to use my code versioning system to go back to an older set of NuGet packages. If I’m supposed to upgrade NuGet packages, I should be able to tie that to a revision in my code so that if I go back to an older revision of my code, the NuGet packages also revert to the older versions.

Thanks,

Matt
