hello…
i have simple floorplan blueprints that has a static mesh 3x3x1 size with sockets in the static mesh…
( I shape, L shape, S shape T shape corridors, rooms, etc…)
the plan was, to be able to design the floorplan using given floorplan blueprints…
then with the controls, the player is able to spawn the floorplan, and it automatically attaches to the selected floor…
so, now, player can build a big floor, design etc… navigation auto updates as the player build the floor
so, the questions are,
-
would it hog memory? or would it consume resource too much?
lets say, there would be hundreds of block of floorplan 3x3x1 all socketed to each other… -
is there a limit to the number of the blueprint actors that can be spawned…
-
and since all of the floorplan are socketed to each other… is it wrong or bad to have it like that?
i was curious and tested it out…
spawned a hundred floors conecting to each other… and have characters walk over it…
so far there was no noticeable lag / drop in fps…
but i want to ask the pros/ more experience people to share thoughts of this…
i know this way is not the most optimized… but its what i got… ![]()
