Is there a Datasmith plugin for Solidworks 2024? Or is there a workaround?
Try the current Datasmith solidworks exporter, it should work with Solidworks 2024. I had it installed for Solidworks 2023 and when I switched to 2024 I did not have to do anything and it seemed to work out of the box.
However, be mindful that we still did not start checking it was actually bug free.
On a side note, UE 5.3 and 5.4 will not be able to load solidworks 2024 sldprt sldasm files. This should come in 5.5.
I don’t have Solidworks 2023 and the installer won’t work for 2024. So it’s fine if you already had Solidworks but not if you just purchased it. If someone could update the installer to include the newer version so i and anyone else with just the newest version of solidworks can use it please. Many thanks.
Okay, that was something I was not sure would work.
We will do that update in the upcoming months.
