Is the processor of your computer important for ue4?

In the faq of ue4 it recommends me to use a Quad-core Intel or AMD, 2.5 GHz or faster processor
The computer I want to by (EXO PC READY J7-V1345 Intel Celeron) only has 1.6 GHz
Is the processor really important for game development? Or is my processor ok with 1.6 GHz

I’m afraid that’s not going to cut it. Celeron doesn’t have the necessary hardware to cope with UE. You really need to get i7.

Yes, it is important, UE4 Editor is quite CPU-heavy and Intel Celeron is extremely outdated.

Agree. You’ll want to stick to at least the minimum hardware recommendation by Epic of a Quad-core Intel or AMD, 2.5 GHz or faster.
And even if a low-end CPU is able to run the editor, there are numerous development tasks in UE4 (compiling code, shaders, building lighting…etc) that are CPU heavy and that benefit immensely from having a modern CPU in terms of workflow efficiency and development speed.

Would the AMD A6 7480 3,2GHz ok? Or is the AMD RYZEN 5 1600 3.2Ghz AM4 Wraith Spire Cooler better?

These are video cards.

You need to have the whole package in line:

  1. Good CPU ( i7, 4 core or more )

  2. Enough RAM - at least 8GB

  3. Fast hard drive - SSD at least 500GB

  4. Decent video card - basically any ATI that costs more than 120 bucks
