Is the Lerp info wrong with EU4?

The Lerp info tooltip when you Crtl + Alt over it states that “If Alpha is 1.0/white, the first input is used If Alpha is 0.0/black, the second input is used.”

So i made a simple texture to act as the mask, with black on top and then white on the bottom, with a gradient following the same order black on top fading to white downwards. Expecting to see the opposite of what I got as you can see attached below, following the info shouldn’t it be blue on top and then red on the bottom? Lerp shouldn’t be this hard or am I just missing something?

The Alpha lerps between 0 (RED) and 1(Blue)
unless you swap the A/B pins over.

When the alpha is 0, the result will be only what comes from input pin A
When the alpha is 1, the result will be only what comes from input pin B
It’s working as its supposed to, but you are right i’d say their description could use an update.
