Is the Learning Portal Gone?

I have been crunching a bunch of the courses and learning paths the past few weeks, earning 12+ “badges” and achievements. I went to go back to my dashboard as I still have courses in-progress and can’t seem to find anything associated with learn.unrealengine.com. Am I having account/login issues or has this entire portion gone away; I keep getting redirected to dev.epicgames.com when trying to access my learning portal dashboard. Below is a link to one of the learning paths:

Ah! I had the same question and I was thinking that I might have remembered things wrong!

For the rest who have the same problem, some content can still be accessed via Epic Games

I wish there’s an upvote for this. Was using the learning platform for the past few weeks so it was shocking to see it gone.

In case Epic Games is seeing this: I’m not sure if this means the learning portal will be gone and merged with the Learning Library on devs.unrealengine.com. I actually love this learning portal more but there’s some missing content, such as New online courses: VR game development for Oculus - Unreal Engine.

Yep, you should had received an email in early August about the closing of UOL.

ah, thanks, was wondering what’s going. I didn’t receive an email though I thought it would’ve been nice to see some official post here or some blog post.

I always assume people subscribe to newsletters, maybe if you didn’t that’s why you didn’t received the email.

BTW it was like this:

Since you are a member of the Unreal Online Learning (UOL) community, we wanted to let you know about an important update. As part of our investment in learning and content for Unreal Engine, we’re transitioning UOL into the new Epic Developer Community (EDC). This includes migrating select existing courses from UOL, as well as adding brand-new content focused on Unreal Engine 5 into one consolidated site.

On the EDC, you’ll not only be able to continue your learning journey, but also leverage additional features of the platform such as community interaction via our forums and sharing of code snippets.

As part of this transition, the UOL site will be retired on August 31, 2022. Information that is not transferred from the UOL site to the new EDC will be deleted and no longer available through UOL.

You will be able to log in to the Epic Developer Community with your Epic Games account, using the same credentials that you used for UOL. Any badges that you earned from UOL will appear within the ‘Badges’ section of your profile on the EDC. However, your incomplete course progress will not be transferred; we regret any inconvenience this may cause.

You will no longer be able to access the UOL site or any information stored within your UOL account after August 31, 2022. Although we intend to transfer your UOL information linked to your Epic account to a new EDC profile, we recommend you take the following actions before the UOL retirement to avoid any loss of progress or achievements:

  • Sign in to the UOL site before August 31, 2022.
  • Complete any coursework in progress prior to August 31, 2022 or make note of your current progress if this is not possible.
  • Take screenshots of any badges you have earned in the Achievements section. This will help the Epic team in the event that any badges are not correctly migrated to your EDC profile within your Epic account.

Please note that although we are updating the community platform, nothing about the way we process your information has changed. Our current terms and privacy policy continue to apply to your use of the EDC as they did to UOL.

Thank you for your commitment to learning Unreal Engine. We look forward to seeing you on the EDC.

Erm, ok, this makes sense. I didn’t receive the email as I “joined” afterwards and have been devouring the learning paths like mad in the past few weeks; 16. I guess ‘we’ are in the middle of the online education surgery – I don’t see any of my completed courses migrated-over to the ‘new’ platform and the helpful link to the ‘old’ platform works, but looks like it is being torn-down and many of the courses are now gone and the learning paths are also cannibalized (many of the subsections are ‘gone’ too). Hopefully this migrates-over soon and we also have ability to share/post badges/achievements to social (i.e., LinkedIn, etc.). Thanks for the updates to those replying.

Lost all my badges, when is this going to be migrated, because it’s not on my interactions tab.

I have the same problem … the account was migrated but the badges no.
How can I solve?

Just an info … I tried to start the Lumen introduction but I’have no progress indicator like the old portal … could be a problem to check my completed courses…where is the new dashboard and badge?

The “helpful link” to the old platform does work and I was even able to complete a course and get a couple of badges. Will they be transferred now that it has happened after Aug 31st.

Yeah, I also wonder where they will be putting the learning badges and learning progress.

I always viewed those badges for myself, and just liked them as a reminder of what I learned. I don’t think anyone where I’m employed would use my badges to consider hiring me. can’t say the same for other places though. in the end I think a reel is still the best thing to have, or these days maybe just updated artstation ?

I saw the email and I did what they recommended.
" * Complete any coursework in progress prior to August 31, 2022 or make note of your current progress if this is not possible."
But I can’t see the badges of the courses I completed after that email.

Same here the last badges are still missing, at least i have taken a screenshot on August 31 of all of them.

Thank you so much! really appreciate the help

hi guys,
I hope you all are well, I am new to this community and glad to join you.

This is shocking me. They have deleted some really good courses, I can’t find them anywhere now.

So does anybody find badges?

where they will be putting the learning badges and learning progress.

For anyone who was looking for some of the original courses and your searches aren’t turning up anything, a lot of the onboarding tutorials have been all collected into this page.

Unreal Engine Essentials for Games | Onboarding Collection

It’s not very obvious how to access this and I spent quite a while searching for the actual course names. Obviously not going to solve any of the other missing pieces of the Learning platform, but this is a bare minimum. I do miss the tests and such, but at least the content is still accessible.
