Is the GTX 1060 6gb good for Game Dev?
As a entry PC Game Dev rig, and some gaming.
Yes but consider having at least 8GB of RAM. Check this out if you like to know more: Recommended Hardware UE4 Wiki
At a glance there isn’t really much of a difference between those motherboard chipsets so unless the z270 has a particular feature you want, it’s probably not nessecary.
If you won’t overclock no need to go for an after market cpu cooler unless you want to reduce fan noise. Best bang for your buck on-top of the components you mentioned will be good ram and a conveniently sized SSD.
And between GPU and CPU, what is like the main part of a Game Dev/Gaming rig? Would it be ok GTX 1060 6gb, i7 7700 (non K) and 16gb DDR4 2800MHz?
Edit: B250 MOBO (I don’t plan to OC any component) Would you recommend a liquid cooler?
Edit 2: What would be a better choice, a Z270 MOBO (I won’t OC) or a liquid CPU cooler?
Is 360GB enough (SSD)? (120GB would be for the OS (Windows 10))
You have way to many concerns about that in my opinion. Besides that we cant give you exact guidance without knowing what you really like to achieve and for what you usually need your computer. 360GB is enough for a ssd and i would even say that currently 120gb is the minimum when anyone is considering to buy one.
Ok, thanks
