I’ve gone through the process of installing and allowing the Steam Online Subsystem for my project. Every tutorial I’ve looked at says the steam interface should be active when launching. I’m not getting any interface, but I’m also not getting any errors. How can I know if the Steam system is working?
Look in to logs, you can do that in editor by opening Output Log (Window->Devlopment Tools->Output Log) if there any issue it will pop up there, there also should be sign of Steam OnlineSusbsystem to load it. If you have something not working it mostlikey prints error in log, i recommend you to have Output Log always open or even start editor with -LOG option with will show output log on editor load.
I do. I’ve had many errors trying to get the subsystem to work before. Errors would show in red on the output log and cancel the package process. Now I don’t find any obvious erros in the log and it completes a packaged file, but loading the game from the .exe doesn’t have the Steam interface.
It solved itself, somehow. I tried the subsystem a couple of months later and worked without a problem.
Can you please tell me what steps you took to get the Steam Online Subsystem to work anyway, of can you point towards a complete guide that would fit the current version of the engine (4.20). I’ve tried all the sources and somewhere in between the conflicting information I can’t get it to work at all.
