After a few days of trying, I have not been able to get it to work and I always get the message "no source available" I am using Revit 2023.1 and Twinmotion 2022.2.3, installed the datasmith exporter the last, as it is recomended by Twinmotion web.
I would like to know, if it works for someone, what type of file it generates in the directlink folder. In my case, it generates an "assets" folder but a Twinmotion file itself (udasmith file) is not generated. And I don't know if this could be the problem.
Does Revit have to generate that file?
Thanks and regards
Hello ,
Thank you for posting in the community and sorry to hear about the troubles.
Could you confirm you are using the Datasmith Exporter plugin 5.0.3v2 found here:
https://www.twinmotion.com/plugins/revit
You can check the Datasmith version by referencing this article:
https://twinmotionhelp.epicgames.com/s/article/How-to-find-the-Datasmith-Exporter-Plugin-Version
When using the Direct Link process it stores the files in a cache folder specified in the connections settings. Changing the path could potentially help and making sure the permissions to that folder are correct.
Also make sure there are no blocked ports or your firewall is not blocking the applications.
Are you on a wifi or wired network and does it make a difference, is one a public or private network?
You can reference this article on how to check any blocked ports:
https://helpdeskgeek.com/networking/determine-open-and-blocked-ports/
Process Monitor application can be used to find out what port Revit and Twinmotion are using:

If the problem persists please contact us directly so we can further investigate.

Hi Vincent, thank you for your response. I am sure about the version of Datasmith exporter, unistalled and reinstalled it many times.
I have been trying many of the things you mention, changed the directlink folder also.
Now i have to check if there are some blocked ports. It is very possible that this is the cause, because it seems that the entire process is carried out but in the end it fails. I'll pass on your suggestions to my IT department and keep you posted, thanks again.

I've DOWNGRADED my exporter from 5.1.1 to 5.0.3 v2 and it worked.
I'm running
Revit 2023.1
Twinmotion 2023.1
Good luck out there folks.
Thank you Daniel, and sorry for the late answer.
Finally our Macafee antivirus was blocking some kind of communication to the Epic Games server at the moment of login or license checking. Dont know exactly what port o protocol, but after a couple of months finally it works with a newer release of Macafee.
Cheers
