Given Simplygon’s website and developer-facing information, I can’t figure out what the “Free” version (Simplygon Connect) offers over the built-in Epic mesh reduction tools aside from skelmesh reduction. I’m trying to figure out:
– Does the Simplygon mesh reduction/HLOD actor merge tech simply override the built-in Epic tools?
– Are the results that much better than vanilla 4.19?
– Does anyone have any success stories?
I’m pretty cautious about this as I heard about how long it took them to integrate with 4.19; my team doesn’t have time to wait for them to play catch-up. There’s also hardly any discussion on the forums, which makes me quite wary.
