Is my specs sufficient to develop games?

Hello

These are the Laptop specs that I will be using to learn & develop games.

Model - ASUS F15 FX506HF
Processor - Intel® Core™ i5-11400H 2.7 GHz (12M Cache, up to 4.5 GHz, 6 Cores)
Ram - 8GB (can be expanded)
Window Storage - 1TB SSD (200GB - OS, 730GB - Storage & GTA 5😊) (also expandable to 2TB)
Linux Storage - 500GB SSD (for software & web app development)
GPUs - NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 2050 Laptop GPU, Up to 1625MHz at 55W & Intel UHD integrated graphics

The 8GB RAM is going to suck, big time. And the 4GB vRAM on the 2050 is also not that great, can be quite limiting in some scenarios.

But yes, simple games. Just don’t expect to make another MMO $tarCitizen.

@Everynone is right. You’ll have more trouble than you think in Unreal 5 with those specs. But you can work on Unreal 4 with more stability. UE4 more than enough for game development, you’ll not suffer from missing anything against UE5. Just know your triangles, textures and UV layouts.

I just upgraded my ram to 16gb ddr4 &Thanks for the input :+1:

Ohkay, thanks man for the reply.
