Is it possible to connect a Niagara particle system to a skeletal mesh instead of the armature(Blender) (UE4)

As the title says. I know that to add a trail effect to a sword swing thats in an Arc is by using a ribbon and then putting it unto the armature/bones of the skeletal mesh but I can’t figure out how to properly import animations so I was wondering if I could do the same but instead by putting it under the skeletal mesh itself.
