UE4 works fine on my computer but as far as I can tell it’s not possible to build games for Windows from the Mac and that obviously really limits who can play anything I make.
Is it possible to build for Windows on the Mac? I assume not but I’d like to be sure.
That’s not currently possible. There’s no Mac->Windows cross-compiler & SDK to compile UE4 for Windows from a Mac. You can’t build for Mac from Windows either for the same reason.
To be clear, this has been a feature of Mac apps since the mid-90’s. CodeWarrior on a Mac could build the PC version. Qt on a Mac could build a Windows version. MetaCard, RunRev, LiveCode, could all build the Windows version on a Mac. Unity can build a Windows version on a Mac.
Unreal is the only platform that comes to mind, that CAN’T do this.
