Just wondering if this is a good place to introduce ourselves, our studios and games?
Hi there @DChan,
Welcome to the Unreal Engine forums! So nice to see a new face around here
As for your question, yes it’s absolutely fine (and encouraged!) to share your projects. Hope we get to see yours soon!
Well let’s go!
Thanks for the thread @DChan , and I’m looking forward to you showing your project and studio here and I will be giving thoughtful feedback to anyone who links a playable build, I hope you guys can do the same for me!
My name is Jeff, but my handle is IllTempered Tuna. I was an effects artist in this industry that worked at various studios and art houses (I got to do a Mobile Strike commercials in the Unreal Engine!).
I became disillusioned by much of the incompetence and chaos of this industry, so I decided to start my own project, SeaCrit some years back. I believe there can be immense value in AAA, Epic is testament to that, but it’s going to take some foundational rebuilding of this industry before we have that value again.
As an indie, I’m more than excited that our projects may be on the forefront of this industry’s future! When I started my project I was hoping to just maybe earn a living and sell a few copies, but the project has been growing strong, and as this industry collapses, who knows what the future holds?
It’s playable on Phone (Iphone tends to have issues), or computer. And you can play it with touch, mouse, keyboard or a combination of mouse and keyboard (my personal favorite).
Important info
I’m on the cusp of adding the actual content about the game, so the best feedback would be about general game feel. I know the game is kinda empty right now, that will be changing soon!
I’ll start up my own thread with my own project in this forum soon (building up a demo in the meantime).
Anyhow! I’m really impressed by the industrious spirit here, the professionalism as well as the open atmosphere that doesn’t discriminate against others! (Even if we’re darned dirty Unity users)
Excited to help build a community here. This industry needs a sane place for developers to come together and talk dev!
Gotta make a second post as I’m limited web links (apologies for the spam) but here is my workflow channel where I post dev videos:
One thing I plan on doing is dev sessions specifically geared towards feedback that I receive in threads like this. So if anyone tries the above demo, and feels like giving feedback I very well might record the dev session where I implement that feedback. Might be cool, might be mind numbingly boring! We’ll see. At the very least I will give any and all suggestions a solid breakdown of why I did or did not implement it.
Thanks again for reading guys, looking forward to engaging other developers and projects.
Again, appreciate this invaluable opportunity to get our projects out there, gather feedback, and at the very least meet other passionate developers and talk some gamedev .
Hi everyone! I always wanted to be more active on Epic forums and now is the perfect time
I’m Eugene, gameplay and UI programmer. By day I’m a full-time developer working on a huge project. And by night me and my small team are working on a Synthetica: Cyber Club Manager. It’s a club management game, where player crafts and controls android workers who provide entertainment for different clients. It’s still on a early stage of development, but I hope we’ll release it in the first half of 2025.
Here is the fresh from the editor screenshot. UI is being reworked and looks terrible at the moment, but overall visual style is starting to look great, thanks to our artist and Unreal. We started the project as a 2d pixel art game, but decided to switch to 3d a few months ago. There are still some old icons and elements left from 2d iteration.
As long as we’re sharing links - we would really appreciate extra-wishlists on steam, thanks!
Hey folks. My name is Dave Chan. I have been in game development since 1999 and have had the good fortune to work some great people. Got my start at BioWare back in the day, Left them around the time of the first Mass Effect. I have been in various roles since then, mostly audio, but also production. I have been freelance and in-house. Have worked on some AAA, AA and indie titles. About a year ago a friend and I got the bright idea to start our own studio. Thus was formed Giant Sandbox Games Inc. We added 3 more team members since then, all great and talented people. In the process of getting a vertical slice together and looking for investment.
We are working on a psychological horror game called Mindscape. Looking forward to sharing more.
